Mission Statement

The Novi Community Schools Special Education Parent Advisory Committee represents families with students receiving Special Education services in partnership with NCSD to empower each student to develop his/her highest potential through collaboration and communication.

The PAC:

  • Acts as a parent resource in collaboration with the Novi Community School District Special Education Department
  • Solicits information from parents of students who receive special education services regarding needed areas of program development
  • Participates in problem solving discussion with special education administrators for program improvement
  • Provides information, expertise, representation and participation in an advisory capacity to the administration

Summer Camp Opportunities for Students with Special Needs

    • Offering several Summer Programs including: social skills day camp, overnight camp, baseball through the Miracle League and the "Lose the Training Wheels" program to learn to ride a two-wheeled bike
  • Bloomfield SCAMP
    • SCAMP provides a quality summer program for individuals with disabilities ages 3-26+ in Metro Detroit.  Therapeutic recreation is at the core of our program where campers enjoy age and skill appropriate activities from a caring staff that looks forward to working with you child/consumer.
    • Swimming in Walnut Lake, arts & crafts, music therapy, social skill development, and language activities are embedded into each day centered on a weekly theme.  We strive to make each summer the best for our participants and endeavor to build partnerships with parents, teachers, community agencies and other school personnel to help each individual have the most successful summer at SCAMP.
